2014 will be CHHAPS’s 10th year at the Mane Event in Chilliwack, BC

CHHAPS has plans for a booth at the Mane Event in Chilliwack, BC, from October 24-26. Come visit our booth, and watch for our demos to see Canadian Horses in action. In our efforts to promote the Canadian Horse breed, the Canadian Horse Heritage & Preservation Society has staffed a booth at the Mane Event since its inception in 2004, and given breed demos several times over the years.

In 2011, Kim Reid (formerly Deutsch) donated a set of beautiful display panels that she’d had made in 2002. In addition to a touching poem and striking photograph on the central panel, the display depicts the history of the Canadian Horse as well as its versatility in modern times. CHHAPS has used these beautiful panels at the Mane Event as well as at the Northwest Horse Fair in Albany, Oregon for the past two years. We will be using them again this year, and they are worth coming to take a closer look at.

We hope to see you at the 2014 Mane Event. Drop by the booth and say hello. If you’re interested in joining CHHAPS, it would be a good idea to do it before October 24th so you can attend and vote at our Annual General Meeting, being held across the highway from the Mane Event on Friday evening. Visit our website at http://www.chhaps.org for more information on CHHAPS or the Canadian Horse, and download a membership application to join.
